Congressional Leaders
Series editors: Jeffrey Crouch and Matthew N. Green
Founding Editor: Burdett A. Loomis
The aim of the Congressional Leaders series is to present scholars and the general reading public with accessible, well-researched assessments of key leaders in the history of the United States Congress. The volumes in the Congressional Leaders series will include biographies, specialized monographs, and edited volumes, with the unifying feature that each focuses on a single congressional figure who has played an important role as a political leader. In addition to speakers, party leaders, and committee chairs, the vision for the series includes historic leaders and those who exercised leadership outside the formal party/committee structure. Each work will focus on the congressional career of a particular leader within its contemporary political and historical context, drawing upon original sources and relevant secondary literature.
