The history of Kansas is unlike any other state in the Union. Inspired by the recent book Reform and Reaction: The Arc of Kansas Politics, Philadelphia Inquirer politics and government reporter Katie Bernard sits with former Kansas governors Kathleen Sebelius (D) and Mike Hayden (R) to discuss the complex story of—and their experiences with—recent Kansas politics, from the 1960s to today.
Reform and Reaction is edited by Michael A. Smith (Emporia State University) and H. Edward Flentje (Wichita State University), and features contributions by the editors, Patrick Miller (Kent State University), Chapman Rackaway (Radford University), and the late Burdett Loomis (University of Kansas).
This event will take place at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics and be simulcast online. For more information, see the Dole Institute website: https://doleinstitute.org/event/the-arc-of-kansas-politics/
