Brian Daldorph, author of Words Is a Powerful Thing: Twenty Years of Teaching Creative Writing at Douglas County Jail, will participate in a discussion at the Kansas City Public Library about how writings by and about the lives, experiences, and emotions of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people benefits not only this population but everyone. Joining Daldorph in the discussion will be novelist Barbara Stuber and Samantha Pettus, manager of Journey House, a Kansas City re-entry shelter.
