William E. Koch
William E. Koch was professor of English and folklore at Kansas State University. He coauthored Kansas Folklore, a collection of songs, proverbs, legends, and tales, for the Kansas centennial in 1961 and published numerous articles on central plains life and folklore. His radio show, “Legends and Lore of the Great Plains,” was a monthly feature on station KSAC for four years. Koch was president of the Kansas Folklore Society, was active in the Kansas Authors Club and the Kansas Historical Society, and served as a consultant for various historical and educational film productions.
