Peter J. Coleman

Peter J. Coleman, a native of New Zealand, is professor of history at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to articles on New Zealand and American history in the Journal of American History, Journal of Modern History, Business History Review, Pacific Historical Review, and The Wilson Quarterly, among other journals, he is the author of The Transformation of Rhode Island, 1790–1860 and Debtors and Creditors in America: Insolvency, Imprisonment for Debt, and Bankruptcy, 1607–1900.
